Each passenger will be provided with safety equipment like life jackets, paddles following an instruction session from experts. Prior to departure, a briefing is conducted for safety and other procedures,” the statement reads further. r“As part of the commencement of the activity, the GTDC handed over a cheque of `50,000 to Parag Khadlikar, Sarpanch of Village Panchayat, Nagargao, Sattari towards Goa Tourism’s CSR initiative and commencement of river rafting for the season. GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral extended his gratitude and appreciation to the village panchayat of Nagargao for supporting GTDC’s monsoon adventure activity in Mhadei River. r“The white water rafting activity has been a huge success since last five years due to the efforts put in by the local body and the operator,” Cabral said. rHe thanked the new Sarpanch Parag Khadlikar and his team wholeheartedly for co-operating with GTDC as the new season of the white water rafting activity is set to begin from June 29. The CSR contribution to the village panchayat will go towards upkeep and maintenance of white water rafting area. rTourists, locals and all those interested in experiencing white water rafting will have to assemble at The Earthen Pot Restaurant, Sayed Nagar, Valpoi, Sattari, from where a 25-minute drive and thereafter a 10 minute walk into the Mhadei river valley will take you to the rafting site.
