Iqbal XI registered a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Nayal Borim in a GCA A Division match played at Sanguem ground on Saturday.
Put in to bat, Iqbal XI posted a massive 313/9 in their allotted 40 overs. One-down Atish Varpe smashed 85 in 70 balls, a knock laced with ten boundaries and a maximum. Vaibhav Chowgule (49, 32b, 4x4, 2x6), Santosh Upadhe (44*, 40b, 4x4), Amey Dhamsekar (35, 25b, 4x4, 2x6), Harish Naik (31, 12b, 4x4, 1x6) and Badal Singh (30, 23b, 4x4) played their part in putting up a stiff total.
Chasing a huge target, the Borim side were never really in the hunt after losing their third wicket on 46 midway through the 12th over and eventually finished at 195/9.
