Salgaocar Football Club held Dempo Sports Club to a tense 1-1 draw in a round 11 match of the Goa Professional League at Duler Stadium, here, on Tuesday. Aslon Olievera scored a 90th-minute equaliser for Salgaocar to cancel out Beevan D'Mello's 73rd-minute strike for Dempo.

Both the teams enjoyed equal share of ball possession in the first half. In the seventh minute, Salgaocar's had the first crack at goal but Martin Scott shot straight at Dempo goalkeeper Tyson Caiado. The Greens threatened the Golden Eagles again in the 19th minute, when Jason Barboza ran a long way and tried to score by scooping the ball over Tyson but his shot sailed wide.

Ten minutes later, Jason Barboza was yellow-carded by referee Prasad Surlakar for a foul on Beevan D'Mello. Dempo first good attempt came in the 41st-minute where Salgaocar goalie Bruno Colaco was forced to make a good save, as he blocked a blistering shot by Uttam Rai.

Post resumption there were a lot of counter-attacks with Dempo looking to build patiently. Dempo coach Mauricio Afonso made a double substitution at half time when Aniston Fernandes and Steven Fernandes came on for Vinit Budge and Uttam Rai. Meanwhile, Mauricio's counterpart Malcolm Thomson also did a double changeover when Aslon Olievera and Alesh Sawant came on for Jason Barboza and Myron Borges.

At the hour mark, Naveen Mendes took a long shot which sailed above the Salgaocar crossbar. Ten minutes later, Salgaocar's Jayganesh Goltekar was shown the yellow card for a foul on Beevan D’Mello.

In the 72nd minute, Beevan made a well-timed cross to substitute player Aniston Fernandes whose shot hit the Salgaocar crossbar. One minute later, the determined Beevan opened the scoring for Dempo when he managed to tap home the ball with much ease into the far right corner of the net. The Beevan goal seemed to have sealed the deal for the Golden Eagles but the Greens found the equaliser in the last minute of regulation time when Aslon Olievera found the net.
