Marc Caterers Nuvem humbled Varca Veterans 3-0 to enter the quarter-finals of the Monti Trophy Veterans Soccer tournament organized by
United Boys of Monti Benaulim and played at Monti Grounds Benaulim.
Nuvem with a couple of star names forced their rivals on the defensive but despite some resilient defending by Varca stopper Charles
Rodrigues and Romeo Pereira the breakthrough came from Nuvem on the stroke of half time when Mathew D’Costa found the net beating rival
goalkeeper Conny Rodrigues with a clear finish.
After the change of ends, Nuvem doubled their lead again through Mathew Costa after Bobby Crasto had done all the spade work. Varca were totally demolished by the goals and Nuvem completed the rout when skipper Marcus Carvalho scored from close range.
