Margao down Curtorim in sudden-death to reach finals
Margao Sports Club prevailed over Curtorim Gymkhana 9-8 via sudden-death to storm into the final of All Goa 21st Dando Boys Cup inter village football tournament organized by Dando Boys of Benaulim at St John the Baptist Dando-Grounds, Benaulim on Thursday. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of normal period.

It was hard to control the ball in the slippery conditions given the heavy down pour throughout the day . Both the teams adopted safety approach and ocassionally going for attacks . Both the teams defenders did a marvellous job in protecting their citadel ;. Margao Sports Club adjusted the wet condition and Necil Pinto beat the rival goalkeeper with neat finish . Post resumption, Curtorim Gymkhana made some sporadic raids and launched a flurry of attacks and their efforts bore fruit when James Fernandes cancelled the lead with a stiff shot. After finishing with a 1-1 draw in regulation time, both teams headed for the tiebreaker. In the shoot out the scores were tied. In the ensuing sudden death, Cliff Baretto was successful for Margao Sports Club while Swizel Pereira failed to score for Curtorim Gymkhana.
A strapping six-footer in central defence, the promising Ali Mohammed from Caranzalem could well be one of the local talents FC Goa will look to rope in for Season 4.
