Harsh Patre’s five-goal blitz took GFDC Mayem to an amazing victory in the U-13 match against GFDC Savoi Verem during the Inter-Centre Vodafone GFDC Rising Star Football Festival at Mayem.
The Mayem side displayed good attacking skills and team work. Midfielder Harsh Patre who is the student of Vijayanand High school, Mayem was the hero of the match. In first half he scored three goals. GFDC Savoi Verem were not able to recover from early attacks and failed to consolidate in the game.
In second half, Mayem maintained their supremacy and scored two more goals through Harsh Patre. With five goals, Harsh Patre was named player of the match.
In another U-10 boys category match, GFDC Mayem defeated GFDC Savoi Verem by 2-1 margin. In this match both teams showed good team work and attack. But Mayem proved a bit stronger with their player Arun Chauhan scoring two goals. Pushkar Kamat was the scorer for Savoi Verem. Arun Chauhan was named player of the match.
A hat-trick by Kaushik Sakhalkar helped GFDC Socorro beat GFDC Corlim 4-1. This is the first victory for Socorro in the Inter Centre matches. The match was played at Vadem-Socorro. The host team was in top form as they played good football and showed fine team work. Kaushik Shakhalkar gave his team lead in the first half. By the end of the first half, Socorro were leading 1-0, but in the second half GFDC Corlim were quick and Ajay Bhomkar scored for Corlim. Later, some superb performance by team Socorro helped hosts score three more goals. Kaushik Sakhalkar scored a brace and Sidhant Pednekar scored one goal for Socorro. Kaushik who studies in Holy Cross High School, Bastora was named player of the match.
