MCC Knights and MCC Tigers emerged victorious in their respective matches of the ongoing MCL 11 T20 tournament, with both encounters played at the MCC Ground, Margao.
In the morning match, MCC Knights defeated MCC Stallions by 4 wickets. Batting first, MCC Stallions posted 141/9 in 20 overs, with useful contributions from Nikhil Virginkar (35), Dr. Ankush Patil (31) and Rohit Mehta (22). For MCC Knights, Shaunit Sawardekar impressed with the ball, returning figures of 3/17, while Kapil D.S. Borker (2/16) and Siddharth Ghanekar (2/15) provided good support.
In reply, MCC Knights chased down the target, scoring 145/6 in 18.3 overs. Kapil D.S. Borker top-scored with a fine 40, while Smit Dalvi (23*), and Vikram Gaitonde (21*) guided the team home. Govind Gaonkar (2/36) and C. Ashok (2/25) were the main wicket-takers for MCC Stallions. Kapil D.S. Borker was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
In the afternoon match, MCC Tigers outplayed MCC Warriors with a dominant 6-wicket victory. MCC Warriors, batting first, were restricted to 117/9 in 20 overs, with Deepak Lotlikar scoring 36, while Sudip Faldesai and Vasudev Kundaiker added 18 runs each. Mrunmay Das starred with the ball for MCC Tigers, claiming 4/14, supported by Sanat Kamat (2/21).
Chasing a modest target, MCC Tigers reached 118/4 in just 11.4 overs. Vaibhav Naik led the charge with 35, while Nikit Naik Dalal (22) and Dinraj Pai Khot (25*) ensured a comfortable finish. Vikas Shetty picked up 2/36 for MCC Warriors.
Mrunmay Das was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Both wins further strengthened MCC Knights’ and MCC Tigers’ positions in the tournament.
