Margao Cricket Club and Margao Cricket Academy (South) registered emphatic wins in the league stage of the 2nd All Goa Exposure Cricket Tournament organised by the academy at the Konkan Railway Colony ground in Margao.
In the morning match, MCA (South) outclassed Star Cricket Academy by 91 runs after posting 147/2 in 20 overs. Ashith Gowda starred with an unbeaten 56, while Shiven Shah contributed 31 and Prince remained unbeaten on 19. Ayush Raiker claimed the lone wicket for Star Cricket Academy, finishing with figures of 1/25.
In reply, Star Cricket Academy were bundled out for 56 in 17 overs despite Atharva Parker’s unbeaten 9. Farhan led the bowling attack with 2/5, while Mahant, Arnav Gawade, Adarsh Risham, Avinash Phadte and Meghaj Patil picked up a wicket each. Ashith Gowda was named player of the match.
In the afternoon encounter, MCC crushed Kreeda Prabhodini by 116 runs. Opting to bat first, MCC scored 152/5 in 20 overs with Darsh Sawant top-scoring with 48. Shivansh Kanatk added 26 and Jonas Pereira chipped in with 23. Dhruv Rathod was the pick of the bowlers for Kreeda Prabhodini with 2/32.
Chasing 153, Kreeda Prabhodini collapsed to 36 all out in 9.2 overs, with Alishan Alam scoring 13. Darsh Sail starred with the ball for MCC, taking 3/4, while Vihan Kolambkar and Shreyan Kauthankar bagged two wickets each. Darsh Sawant was adjudged player of the match.
