Moses emerges as fastest man at Goa University Inter Collegiate Athletics Championship

Moses Wolfang Mascarenhas popularly known as Wolfit has solidified his reputation as the fastest man in Goa. The 22-year-old athlete, a Master's student in English at Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, delivered a performance for the ages at the recently concluded 37th Goa University Inter Collegiate Athletics Championship 2025.

Moses didn't just compete; he shattered records and etched his name into Goa's sporting history. Representing Chowgule College, he stormed to victory in the 100m sprint, clocking an electrifying 10.69 seconds, a new meet record.

In the 200m event, he secured another gold medal, equaling the existing record with a time of 22.3 seconds, while also improving his personal best. His exceptional performances earned him the prestigious Best Athlete (Men’s) Award at the championship.

Moses’ journey began in the 7th grade at The King's School, where he started sprint training. In 2019, he joined RCC Fatorda, seeking the guidance of Coach Patrick Soares, who has been instrumental in shaping his career for the past six years.

Under the guidance of Coach Patrick Soares, Moses has dedicated himself to becoming the fastest man in Goa, and his recent achievements are a testament to his unwavering dedication and talent. His record-breaking performance at the 37th Goa University Inter Collegiate Athletics Championship cements his status as a true sporting icon in Goa.


Wolfit's Impressive track record

2019: Bronze medal in the 4x100m Relay at the West Zone National Championship. Participation in the Junior National Athletics Championship and School Games National.

2022: Gold medal in the 100m at the Mini Athletics Meet. Participation in the 61st National Open Athletics Championship and All India Inter University Athletics 2022-23.

2022-23: Gold in 100m and Silver in 200m at the 35th Goa University Athletics Championship, earning the Best Athlete Award.

2023: Gold in 100m and 200m at the Goa State Athletics Championship, again receiving the Best Athlete Award. Participation in the 62nd Inter State National Championship, 62nd National Open Championship, National Games Goa, and Zonal Inter University Championship 2023-24.

2023-24: Gold in 100m and 200m at the 36th Goa University Athletics Championship, earning his second consecutive Best Athlete Award.

2024: Gold in 100m and 200m at the Goa State Athletics Championship, and yet another Best Athlete Award. Participation in All India Inter University Athletics 2024-25.

He is one of the only Goan athlete selected for the 38th National Games Uttarakhand 2025

2024-25: Gold in 100m with a record-breaking performance of 10.69s and Gold in 200m equaling the record at 22.3s at the 37th Goa University Athletics Championship, earning him his third consecutive Best Athlete Award.
