MARGAO: Navelim Villagers Union defeated Ugem Rising Club 4-3 via the tiebreaker to advance to the quarter-finals of the 15th Fatima Cup, organised by Dicarpale Sports Club, at their ground on Saturday.
Both teams failed to break the deadlock during regulation time, with the match ending goalless.
In the ensuing tiebreaker, Navelim Villagers Union scored through Travis Souza, Mohammad Gaundar, Sam Pereira and Mobin Gomes. Salvito Pereira and Aron Gomes converted for Ugem Rising Club.
Navelim Villagers Union’s Selwin Gomes was named Player of the Match and received the award from Tony Nissan.
