Aman Mehla of Navi Mumbai and Tamali Basu of Kolkata have won the 42km full marathon at the 11th SKF Goa River Marathon organised by the Vasco Sports Club (VSC) in partnership with the SKF India Limited at Chicalim on Sunday.
A total of 2,500, fully-vaccinated runners from Goa and all over India took part in the event.
Aman Mehla of Navi Mumbai clocked a timing of 2:50:33 hrs to win the 42kms full marathon in the men’s category, while Nilesh Kulaye of Ratnagiri who clocked 2:55:48 hrs and Manash Burman of Bengaluru who clocked 2:59:15 hrs finished second and third respectively in the same category.
Likewise, Tamali Basu of Kolkata who clocked an impressive 3:54:32 hrs to win the 42kms full marathon in the women’s category, while Bijoya Barman of Bengaluru who clocked 3:57:55 hrs and Asma Kurane of Kolhapur who clocked 4:03:36 hrs finished second and third in this category respectively.
In the 21kms, men’s half marathon, Rahul Shukla of Bengaluru won the race with an impressive timing of 1:13:22 hrs, followed by Teddy Cardozo of Goa with 1:13:57 hrs and Udesing Padavi of Nandurbar with a timing of 1:14:11 hrs finishing in second and third positions respectively.
In the 21kms women’s half marathon, Pramila Patil of Chiplun won the race in an impressive 1:42:49 hrs, while Samantha Chai of Mumbai in 1:42:57 hrs and Shubhangi Badola of Bengaluru in 1:43:52 hrs came second and third in this category.
Interestingly, as many as 500 runners and walkers also took part in the 5km walk-run event.
