Former Indian pace bowler Ashish Nehra gave a motivational talk to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) airport unit jawans on Friday during a special programme held at Ravindra Bhavan in Baina.
Nehra interacted with the CISF jawans and motivated them during the programme conducted by the CISF. The former left-arm pacer was invited to the programme, which is a part of the ongoing 50th year celebrations of the CISF hosted by the Goa airport unit. A large number of CISF jawans attended the programme and videos on the life of Nehra were shown to motivate them.
N Mrinal, Commandant of CISF airport unit, along with several staff of the CISF shared light moments and a fruitful interactive session with Nehra. The former India international also obliged to a question and answer session and was also given a memento by the CISF Commandant.
“Nehra has had many injuries and surgeries during his cricketing career but bounced back from each injury to play for India, serving under various captains, from Sourav Ganguly to Virat Kohli. This is a real source of motivation,” said Mrinal.
However, Nehra on the other hand, said that it was the CISF jawans that had motivated him. “We keep learning from you people. CISF at airport not only protects VVIPs but all the passengers. There is much more than what it looks and I have seen how forces work to protect us,”Nehra said. “When I got injured, people doubted whether I could make a comeback in international cricket or not. But I wanted to get back and that motivated me and I was back,” said Nehra.
“It is a motivation looking at you work with so much passion. You are your own best friend and you have to believe in your life. Look at the good things in your life and you will overcome the obstacles; you will be successful,” said Nehra. CISF jawans performed a bhangra dance for Nehra and they were later seen taking pictures and selfies with the former fast bowler.
