The fourth edition of Next Gen League 4.0 gathered momentum with the official launch of the U-15 Boys category for the 2026–27 season, continuing its focus on nurturing grassroots football talent through structured competition and meaningful match experience.
The opening day featured two fixtures in the U-15 Boys division. The King’s School, São José de Areal began their campaign on a winning note by overcoming AIM High School, Margao, while Infant Jesus High School, Colva registered victory against St. Anne’s Institute, Agonda.
Outstanding individual performances were also recognised, with Joshua Da Costa of The King’s School, São José de Areal and Kartik Lamani of Infant Jesus High School, Colva being awarded the Player of the Match honours.
The day’s football action extended across other categories as well.
In the U-15 Girls division, St. Anne’s Institute, Agonda emerged victorious over Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna, with Poonam Chaudhary receiving the Player of the Match award for her performance.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 Boys category, St. Jude’s High School, Betalbatim secured a win against Marina English High School, Verna. Milwerd D’Costa of St. Jude’s was named Player of the Match.
Organised by The King’s Sports Academy with The King’s School serving as Venue Partner, the league continues to emphasise player development over results and rankings.
In keeping with its grassroots philosophy, match scores are not publicly released. Instead, teams are rewarded through a development-oriented points system where winning teams receive three points, losing teams earn one point, and drawn matches award two points to each side.
