Advait Balakrishnan won a double crown while Nishant Shenai and Janhavi Mahle won the Junior (U19) Singles titles, at the All Goa Major Ranking Badminton Tournament held at Indoor stadium, Campal, Panaji.
Advait upset top seed Aarush Pawaskar to win the Boys U13 title in the season’s first ranking tournament organised by Sunlite Sports and Cultural Club in collaboration with the Goa Badminton Association (GBA). Advait later teamed up with Parasmay Shenoy to claim the U13 Boys doubles title.
Harsh Mane and Sakshi K emerged winners in U15 Boys and Girls section respectively while Anish Kamath and Nidhi Desai walked away with the singles titles in U17 age group. Ritika Chelluri emerged winner in U13 Girls section.
The tournament, powered by Adidas Badminton and Parama Heartbeat Sports, had over 350 entries with 200+ players participating with a prize purse of Rs 1 lakh. Richard Vaz, former GBA president, along with tournament committee organisers Rupchandra Humaraskar (president), Arnold Rodrigues (secretary), Bhushan Vernekar (treasurer), GBA officials Narahar Thakur (president), Sandeep Heble (secretary), and Kashinath Jalmi (senior badminton player) graced the finals.
