Sony Norde, who starred in Mohun Bagan's Federation Cup fixture on Saturday evening, will leave the country on Sunday to take part in Haiti's preparatory camp for the centenary edition of Copa America.
The former Shiekh Jamal Dhanmondi player has been named in the final 23-member squad of the country. Haiti has been placed in the Group B in the competition with Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. They will start their campaign against Peru on June 4. The team will play a friendly against mighty Colombia on next Sunday and Sony has been summoned in the national team camp ahead of it.
That would mean that the former Mumbai City FC player will not be available for the Mariners' AFC Cup Round of 16 match against Tampines Rovers scheduled to take place on 24th May at Guwahati. Former Mohun Bagan defender Judelin Aveska, who plays for Atletico Uruguay now, has also been included in the rosters.
