Among the several Konkani Christmas audio albums availablethis festive season is Lawry Travasso’s ‘Goan Christmas Flavour’; a Konkani andEnglish compilation of Christmas carols. The album was in fact released on theeve of Christmas 2011 and received good response. Lawry is once again promotingthe same Christmas album at this Christmas.
The audio album has 15 selective festive songs in bothlanguages. While the English carols are all traditional, the Konkani Christmascarols Lawry’s original compositions including a few translations oftraditional English carols. Lawry begins with ‘Goenchim Natalam’ and followswith ‘Jezu Zolmola’. Both tracks have raspy foot tapping melody and music.Silvia renders ‘Joy to the World’ and Konrad follows with ‘Last Christmas’.
‘Santa Claus Ieta’ is the Konkani version of English Carol‘Santa Claus is coming to Town’. ‘Rocking Around’ by Regina and Konrad, ‘SilentNight’ by Silvia, Lawry rendering ‘Christmas Polka’, ‘Natalanchi Toiari’ againby Silvia and ‘Rudolph’ by Konrad are other tracks on the album.
Regina returns with ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and Lawry followswith ‘Khoxechim Natalam’, the Konkani version of ‘Feliz Novidade’. ‘SleighRide’ is the penultimate track on the album by Konrad, and Lawry signs off instyle singing ‘Christmasak Meulim’.
The music for the album has been scored by Felipe Barrettoand the album was recorded at Magic Touch Studio by Chris Correia.
