Goa's Oxford Cricket Club continued their impressive run by securing their second consecutive victory in the Late Rajan Bhai Angane Memorial Under-16 Cricket Tournament, organised by Aim Cricket Academy, Sawantwadi. They defeated Ved Sports Club, Gadhinglaj, by 8 wickets on Friday at the Boarding Ground in Malvan.
Chasing a target of 163, Oxford CC delivered a dominant batting performance, reaching 165/2 in just 14.3 overs with an aggressive approach that left the opposition with no chance to recover.
Earlier, Ved Sports Club posted 162/7 in their allotted 40 overs. Krish Verma top-scored with 46, while skipper Hardik Birambole contributed an unbeaten 31. However, Oxford's disciplined bowling attack kept the scoring in check. Abhisek Lamani impressed for the second consecutive match, claiming 3 wickets for 26 runs. He was well supported by Farhan Shaikh (2/21) and Harsh Nain (2/20), who ensured regular breakthroughs.
In reply, Oxford's chase was powered by a blistering knock from Barhaan Dash, who smashed 58 runs off just 24 balls, including a flurry of boundaries, effectively sealing the match early. He received solid support from Yash Naik (27 not out) and Aayush Gaonkar (23 not out), who guided the team home comfortably.
For his match-winning innings, Barhaan Dash was deservedly named Man of the Match.
