Host Saipem Sports Club, Candolim, won the All Goa Invitation Ramkrishna Kerkar Memorial Volleyball cup, organized by Saipem Sports Club, Candolim at the newly renovated Saipem volleyball floodlight court recently.
In the finals they defeated United Friends Colony, Valpoi by a handsome margin of 22-25, 25-22, 25-16 and 25-22. Tejas Gawas and Nitin Sawant played well for the winners. Vithal Raj Gawas and Sarvesh Naik excelled for the runners-up team.
The winners were awarded Rs 40,000 and a trophy while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 25,000 and a trophy.
Sonu Kerkar was was the chief guest and gave the trophies in the presence of Ramu Kerkar who was the Guest of Honour, along with the Special Invitees, ward members of Village Panchayat, Candolim Lanny Fialho, John Rodrigues, Dinesh Morajkar and other officials.
The tournament was sponsored by the Village Panchayat of Candolim.
