Prajat Halankar emerged as a key contender at the Bandodkar Panjim Gymkhana Tennis Open 2025, securing a semi-final spot in the men’s singles with a solid 6-3 victory over Raju Kundaikar. Halankar is also set to compete in the men’s doubles quarterfinals later today. Prince D’Silva also advanced in the men’s singles, narrowly defeating Nagesh Naik 6-4.
In men’s doubles action, Prince D’Silva and Punit Fadte showcased their dominance, moving past Pankaj Naik and Sachin Ambre, while Ganesh Vernekar and Bhalchandra Gaitonde recorded a decisive 6-0 win. Siddharth Nunes and Nagesh Naik also impressed with a 6-1 victory.
The masters 45+ men’s doubles final saw Sachin Dukle and Kevin Rebello claim the title in emphatic fashion, defeating Mano Chhabra and Suraj Pombra 6-0, 6-0.
The ladies singles quarterfinals delivered compelling matches. Top seed Tithee Bhoomkar overcame her sister Bhaavya Bhoomkar 6-1. Poojal Naik registered a dominant 6-0 win, and Raisa Menezes battled to a 6-4 victory.
The mixed doubles quarterfinals provided upsets. Tithee Bhoomkar and Raju Kundaikar were surprisingly defeated 7-5 by siblings Aishwarya Nunes and Siddharth Nunes. Raisa Menezes and Santosh Gorawar advanced with a 6-3 win, while Tanya Shelyazhynska and Arup Angle won a tight 6-4 match. Asuntha Fleming and Nagesh Naik also secured a semifinal berth.
In the boys u-18 quarterfinals, Kyan Mavany, Shreyas Patil, Arhan Gaunkar, and Punit Fadte all recorded comfortable victories. Arhan Gaunkar displayed his prowess in the boys u-14 semifinals with a dominant 4-0, 4-0 win. The girls u-18 semifinals saw Tithee Bhoomkar and Tvisha Sardesai advance to the final.
The boys U-10 final will feature Arsh Sardesai and Devaansh Naik, who won their respective semifinals. In the girls U-10 semifinals, Samaira Patil and Subhagya Manda emerged victorious after hard-fought matches.
