PVC Parra quelled the challenge of a determined Goan Warriors to book their place in the 17th Vagator Soccer 2017 finals with a fighting 2-0 win at Ozren ground, Vagator on Thursday.

Parra broke the deadlock in the 16th minute of play off a lofted placement by Sankesh Harmalkar from a pass he received from Powell Pinto. PVCcould have doubled their score two minutes later but for the upright that stood in the way of an Atish Mirazkar strike arising from a pass received from Paresh. Goan Warriors had a golden opportunity to restore parity on the half-hour mark through Vishal Salgaokar whose rasping shot went inches over the crossbar from a handshaking distance off a crisp cross received from Ashish Kundekar. Post resumption, Vishnu Pawar and Vinet Salgaokar tried their level best to find the equalizer for Goan Warriors but Parra's backwall led by Sankesh Harmalkar provided stiff resistance on several instances. Alister Fernandes sealed it for Parra in the dying minutes to make it 2-0 for the eventual winners. PVC Parra will now meet Saligao Sporting in the finals to be played on August 20 at Vagator.

Voilem Bhat's Sudesh tried a shot from distance after a lovely ball played to him by team-mate Rajesh, but Sudesh only managed a weak shot goalwards which was easily held onto by Carmibhatt goalie Sadanand.
