Parish Youth Nuvem blanked Nerul SC 2-0 to enter the final of the Agassaim Soccer tournament at Agassaim ground on Friday.
In one of the most thrilling matches, Nuvem got the better of Nerul by scoring two goals. Meishlein Pereira scored the first with a glancing header in the 12th minute. In the second half, Albino Pereira made it 2-0 for Nuvem in the 60th minute.
Grassroots Football Day celebrated
On the occasion of AFC Grassroots Football Day, AdapT Football Academy and AT Foundation celebrated with players and parents at their branches.
Various football activities were conducted for players and their parents. Kolhapur Branch Head & Head Coach, Bhakti Pawar, Ahmednagar Branch Head, Pallavi Saindane, Coaches Altamash Khan, Akanksha Malagi, Akshay Borude, Abhishek Sonawane, Juned Nandikar, Prasad Kulkarni, Ashwini Patil contributed to execute the events. The programmes were conducted under the guidance of former player, AFC ‘A’ license coach and AFC Grassroots Panel member, Anju Turambekar.
Chess: Mandar, Paarth, Sachin in joint lead
At the end of the sixth round of AICF's Chess for Everyone Fide Rating Chess Tournament, top seed Mandar Lad (Fide rating 1961), Paarth Salvi (1623) and Sachin Gaude (1485) maintained the joint lead with 5.5 points from 6 rounds.
Mandar Lad of Goa drew with Paarth Salvi whilst Sachin Gaude (Goa) beat Rupesh Ravindra Bate (1411) of Maharastra on the second board. On the third board, Aryan Raikar (Goa, 1623) beat Kanishk Sawant (Goa, 1088). Ayush Pednekar(1590) managed to outwit Shriya Patil (1232) on the fourth board.
