PANAJI: Persistent rain washed out the entire third and final day, forcing the Men’s Under-23 Multidays Practice League match between Goa and Gujarat to end in a draw at the Gujarat College Cricket Ground A in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Gujarat had piled up 471 for nine declared in their first innings, with Raj Raghwani making a commanding 196 and Kavyan Patel scoring 65. Goa, in reply, were struggling at 22 for two before captain Aryan Narvekar steadied the innings with a fighting 50 off 79 balls, including six fours and a six.
Goa reached 144 for five in 57 overs at the end of the second day, with Dishank Prabhu Misquin unbeaten on 14 and Jeevan Chittem on 21. However, rain prevented any play on the final day, denying Goa an opportunity to continue their response and Gujarat a chance to push for a result.
For Goa, Rahul Vishwakarma and Anuj Yadav claimed three wickets each, while Deep Kasvankar took two.
