Regina Martyrum High School, Assolna beat Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal 4-1 to march into the semifinals of Fr Joseph Vaz memorial Under-17 inter school football tournament, organised by Mount Mary’s High School, Chinchinim at Church Ground, Chinchinim on Saturday. Striker Jasver Pinto scored all four goals for the winners.
Jasver scored first in the 23rd minute before he headed home off a free kick taken by Joen Simoes, 2-0. Darren Vaz then scored for Bethany to make it 2-1. Jasver registered his hat-rick in the 40th minute and five minutes later, slammed in the fourth goal.
In another quarterfinal, St Rock’s High School, Tolleacanto stunned Rosary High School, Navelin 5-4 via tiebreaker.
