Salgaocar FC scored a narrow 1-0 win over Corps of Signals in the Goa Football Association’s Goa Pro League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Saturday.
The match was evenly contested as the teams missed a couple of chances at the rival goals. At half time the scoreboard read 0-0.
Post resumption, Salgaocar FC held the upper hand in the match and constantly troubled the rival keeper as they raided Corps of Signals’ citadel time and again in search of a goal. Their hard work was finally rewarded in the 76th minute as Devendra Murgaonkar netted the solitary goal of the match to give his team full points.
Snows FA hold
Amravati SC 2-2
Snows FA and Amravati SC played out a 2-2 draw in the GFA Air Arabia U-18 League match played at Curtorim ground on Saturday.
Snows FA found the breakthrough in the 16th minute through Irfan Yadwad.
However their joy was short-lived as Amravati levelled terms in the 23rd minute through Shanur Gaus and shot into the lead as Pradeep Dessai slotted the ball past the rival keeper in the 66th
minute.
Struck by reverse, Snows FA bounced back and made it all square through Dawston Fernandes’ brilliant strike in the 76th minute to snatch a point from the rivals.
In another match played at Agassaim ground, Macasana WC and Goa Velha SC played out a drab
draw.
