Madgaon Royals edged past PDK Kings by 1 wicket and 4 balls to spare to make it to the knockouts on the 6th day of the EMR Sarsangan Super Series Cricket.
Put in to bat first, PDK Kings got off to a disastrous start losing their top 3 batsmen at the score of 42 with Aditya Dalal dismissing Siddesh Amonkar and Sachin Sardesai off successive deliveries. The innings was steadied by Ved Mahambrey 44 and Prasheel Kamat 18.
PDK Kings lost wickets at regular intervals only to be resurrected by their vice-captain Gaurav Gaitonde who scored an unbeaten 50 and in the company of Pratham Kossambe 10 put up a 49* run partnership in 32 balls to take PDK Kings to a decent total of 144/6.
For Madgaon Royals, the successful bowlers were Aditya Dalal 2-18, Vikram Gaitonde 2-26 and Mahendra Audi 1-30.
In reply, Madgaon Royals lost 3 quick wickets to be reduced to 24-3 in 4 overs. However, PDK Kings could not take control of the match, due to the resistance shown by Damodar Pai Patnekar 28 and Sarin Pai Kane 19. A 41-run partnership in 23 balls between Mihir Audi 36 and Raunak Nargundker 24 took the match away from PDK Kings. However, the loss of 3 wickets by Madgaon Royals in a space of 8 runs left them to get 18 in 17 balls.
