Zico Boys Verna got the better of SFX Boys, Bhatpal by a solitary goal, to win the Edwin Cardozo Memorial All Goa 7-a-side Football Tournament. Zico Boys won the trophy and a purse of Rs 50,000 in cash, while SFX Bhatpal had to be content with a smaller trophy and cash purse of Rs 30,000. After a barren first“half, a goal from Abhisshek in the second half for Zico Boys was enough to see the team emerge champions. Organised by SFX Sports Club, Bhatpal, a total of 16 teams vied for honours at Devabhaga Grounds, Canacona. Mohammed of Zico Boys was adjudged as the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament for some of his splendid saves. Munna of SFX Boys Bhatpal won the Best Player of the tournament award.
