Shiroda Youth Club defeated FC Siolim 5-4 via the tie-breaker to emerge champions of the 51st Chandor Seamen Cup Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by Chandor Club at the Chandor Church Ground on Sunday.
FC Siolim dominated the opening 15 minutes, with Pushpraj Mandrekar and Saideep Pomburphekar missing chances. Vaibhav Pednekar and Pomburphekar also came close, while Shiroda's Vaibhav Naik and Atharv Ghadi failed to capitalise on their opportunities.
With the match ending goalless, the tie-breaker was used to determine the winner, with Shiroda Youth Club proving more clinical from the spot to secure a 5-4 victory.
Goa Legislative Assembly Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao was the chief guest and presented the prizes in the presence of other dignitaries and club officials.
