MARGAO: Shiroda Youth Club edged past Sporting Club Davorlim 5-4 in a tie-breaker to book their place in the final of the 51st Chandor Seamen Trophy Football Tournament at Chandor Church Complex Ground on Friday.
Davorlim made the brighter start and took the lead in the 21st minute through William Niasso, who finished well to put his side ahead.
Shiroda responded strongly after the break and drew level in the 58th minute when Jonathan D’Costa found the net.
Neither side could find a winner in regulation time, sending the closely contested semifinal into a tie-breaker. Shiroda kept their composure under pressure to prevail 5-4 and secure their place in the title clash.
Shiroda’s Joldren Vaz was named Player of the Match. The award was presented by Chandor Club past president Basil Fernandes.
