Ponda Girl Anura Prabhu Desai, who represents Northern Railway, has won two silver and one bronze medal at the 68th All India Railway Championship at Vishakapatnam.
In the team event, Anura's Northern Railway reached the finals. They lost the summit clash 1-2 to West Central Railway. In the finals, Anura, a brand ambassador of Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd, won the first singles match against Shreyanshi Pardesi 21-19, 25-23. She then partnered Kanika Kanwal in the women's doubles but lost against Shreyanshi and Bharti Pal 16-21, 21-14, 13-21.
In the individual women's singles, Anura secured a silver. In the quarterfinals, she beat Vaishnavi Bhale 21-10, 21-13 before getting the better of Riya Mookeerjee 21-11, 21-12 in the semifinals to reach the finals. In the finals, the Goan shuttler lost to Shreyanshi Pardesi 11-21,18-21.
In the mixed doubles, Anura and Bodhit Joshi won a bronze medal, defeating Akshay Raut and Tapaswini Roy 21-18,21-11. They lost to Shreyanshi and Chirag Sen 21-8, 21-15 in the semifinals.
