The minimum wage of an unskilled worker under MGNREGA scheme will now be Rs 315 per day.
The Goa government has made these rates applicable from April 1 by issuing a notification. Meena H Naik Goltekar ex officio Joint secretary Department of Rural Development has issued a notification in this regard.
It may be noted that Sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 gives power to the Central government to change the wage rate.
