Charlene Fernandes, Mackline Ribeiro (two goals each), and Swizel Fernandes also got on the scoresheet for the winners who led 10-0 at the break.

Nadia Mukundan was another star in the school girls' qualifiers which witnessed a goal glut as 24 were scored in just three matches. Nadia's hat-trick helped Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim defeat Fatima Convent High School 5-0 at Ambelim ground. At the Father Agnel ground, Verna, Arfa Chikodi stood out with a double strike as Regina Mundi High School defeated St Andrew Higher Secondary School 3-0. The junior boys' qualifiers too had goals galore as the net was bulged 38 times in four matches. Omkar Shetgaonkar led the goal charge, scoring six in his team Shree Bhagwati High School, Pernem's 20-0 drubbing of Progress High School. Shridharnath Gawas (four goals), Frazer Viegas and Nigosh Bhagat (three each) were the others who partook in the goal feast for the winners.

PANAJISalgaocar FC registered a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Viva Chennai FC to qualify for the semi-finals of the 1st AWES Cup, organised by Association for the Well-being of Elder Sportspersons and Dempo Sports Club Juniors, at Duler Football Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday.
