The Flaming Oranje outplayed Dempo in every department of the game to taste sweet revenge after having lost the first leg

Sporting Clube de Goa trounced Dempo SC 3-0 in the AIFF U-15 Youth League at Assolna football grounds on Tuesday. The victory saw Sporting extract revenge for the first leg defeat.
The match scripted a different story in each of the halves. Dempo lads intensified their attack in the first half but failed to break down a resilient Sporting defense. The second half belonged to the Flaming Oranje who outplayed Dempo in every department of the game.
The first real opportunity of the game came early in the first half as Dempo striker Borris made a good run on the left but Desmond Fernandes of Sporting stood tall in making a crucial tackle to deny him the view of nets.
Sporting had the best opportunity of the first half when the Dempo goalkeeper brought down Aman Govekar inside the box, forcing referee to point towards the spot. Stendly Fernandes of Sporting stepped up to the occasion but failed to convert the golden opportunity.
In the closing stages, Desmond was back in action making a very important goalline clearance which definitely saved the evening for Sporting. The first half ended in a stalemate as both teams failed to break the deadlock.
The second half, however, had a different script. The Flaming Oranje came in with a plan and executed it with perfection. The trio of Aman Govekar, Savlon Cardozo and Nikhil Correa demolished the Dempo defense as all three got on the scorers' sheet while assisting each other subsequently.
The first goal came in the 51st minute when a well directed corner kick from Aman found a perfectly placed Nikhil in the box who was never missing that from a close range to put Sporting ahead.
In the 73rd minute another beautiful move created by the trio in the midfield found Savlon Cardozo at the end, who dribbled past three Dempo defenders to bury his shot in the left corner stunning the goalkeeper.
The best of the evening came in the 75th minute as the in-form Savlon Cardozo’s extraordinary through ball to Aman saw the last named make a beautiful run beating the defender and keeper to score a deserving goal while scripting a perfect ending to the match which went in favour of Sporting.
