Sporting Club de Goa defeated Panjim Footballers 4-1 in the Goa Pro League organised by Goa Football Association, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Wednesday evening. Marcus scored a brace; Victorinho and Abiola added a goal each for the Sporting side while Ruflon Fernandes scored the only goal for the Panaji side.

Sporting controlled the possession, with Abiola Afuwapa and Cajetan Fernandes moving their strings. And it was no surprise as the Flaming Oranje opened their scoring through striker Victorino Fernandes in the 27th minute. From that point, there was no turning back for Sporting as they continued dominating the proceedings and netted their second three minutes later through a brilliant strike by Abiola Afuwapa. Marcus Fernandes then netted the third goal for Sporting in the injury time of the first half. The second half was played under floodlights amid light showers. Panjim tried to reduce the margin with some noteworthy runs into the box by their striker Snedden Rodrigues but failed to convert the opportunities. Sporting added another to their tally through Abiola in the 70th minute.
