St Joseph’s Boys Home Calangute and Vivian Niwas Girls Hostel Siolim secured a title respectively, at the Sports Meet for ‘Underprivileged Children’ hosted by Lions Club Chodan in collaboration with Lions club of Mapuca Suburban, Assagao, Arpora-Nagoa-Parra, Aldona, Anjuna, Calangute, Candolim, Old Goa and Thivim at St. Joseph’s Boys Home, Calangute recently.
A total of 200 children from Institute of Provedoria-Candolim, St. Joseph’s Boys Home Calangute, El-Shaddai Charitable Trust-Assagao, Vivian Niwas-Siolim, Sister of Adorers-Tivim, Moving school Arpora participated in the sports meet. In the boys section, Moving School-Arpora emerged runners-up while the third place was claimed by El-Shaddai Charitable Trust-Assagao. In the girls section, second place was secured by El-Shaddai Charitable Trust-Assagao while Sister of Adorers-Thivim finished third. Peter Vaz, Patron of Sporting Clube de Goa, Tony Dias, former Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Delilaha Lobo, Sarpanch of Parra, Blaize Fernandes, Sarpanch of Candolim, presented the trophies and certificates. MJF Lion, Agnelo E D’Silva, President, welcomed the gathering while Lion Anthony Fernandes, DC for Sports, proposed the vote of thanks.
