PANAJI: The Goa Athletics Association (GAA) has opened registrations for the 57th Goa State Athletics Championship 2026, which will be held from July 30 to August 1 at the Athletics Stadium, Bambolim.
Held in memory of former chief minister Manohar Parrikar, the championship is the state's premier athletics meet and is expected to bring together athletes representing schools, colleges, clubs and institutions from across Goa.
Apart from providing competitors with an opportunity to test their abilities, improve personal bests and gain valuable competitive experience, the championship will also serve as the selection trial for the 37th West Zone Junior Athletics Championship.
Athletes in the Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Under-20 boys' and girls' categories will be considered for selection to represent Goa at the West Zone Junior Athletics Championship, scheduled to be held from September 27 to 29.
The Goa Athletics Association has invited aspiring athletes to take part in the three-day event, describing it as an ideal platform to showcase talent and compete against the state's best.
Registrations are open until 11.59 pm on July 23, and interested participants can register through the Goa Athletics Association's official website.
