Damodar English High School, Guddi emerged winners of the Goans Hockey Sub Junior Championships at Peddem Super Turf, beating Janata High School Mapusa in the sudden death. The regulation time ended in a goalless draw and the ensuing tiebreaker also ended in a 2-2 draw. In the sudden death, Kiran scored for Janata before Bharat equalised. Vasant of Janata then missed, and Sohail scored the winner for Damodar.
In Sub Junior Girls, St Anthony HS Duler beat Perpetual Succour Convent 4-2 to emerge winners. The score at half time was 1-1. Reena (2) Vaishnavi and Varsha scored for St Anthony. Rhea and Siya scored for Perpetual.
Xavier Marquis, president of Goans Hockey, gave away the prizes in the presence of Patnekar, Headmistress of St Anthony HS and Sr Liberata, Headmistress of Perpetual Succour Convent.
