Citing that several state sports associations participated in the national games, failed to submit the Utilization Certificates, the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG), in an ultimatum has directed the associations to refund the sanctioned amount.
Sports Minister Govind Gaude said that approximately Rs 15.4 crore was sanctioned to 35 associations for preparations of the NG, which were held in October, last year.
He said that around 11.2 crores were released to the associations, however, they failed to submit the UC. "Now, they have to either submit UC or refund the entire amount released to them," the Minister said.
Gaude stressed the importance of accountability, stating that non-compliance could lead to de-recognition and disqualification from national championships, in future.
