Western Naval Command won the Navy Hockey Championship for the third consecutive year, decimating Southern Naval Command 12-1 in a dominant display in the finals in Mumbai.
MD Naushad scored four goals, MM Lokhande slammed in three while K Singh, G Bhandari, N Singh, Sukhdeep and Rambahadur scored one goal each for the winners. S Kumar scored the lone goal for Southern Naval Command.
The Western Naval Command, which comprises of players from Goa, Gujarat, and Mumbai, won their first championship in the 27-year history of the tournament three years back after coach Kartar Singh took over the reins of the team. Since then the team has not looked back.
