TP Boys raised their level when it mattered most to defeat Miracle Boys of Mobor by two first-half goals to enter the finals of Edoviso Dias Memorial Soccer, sponsored by Octaviano Dias and organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim.
Hardly had the match started when Kayne Cardozo of TP Boys took a snap shot which deflected into Mobor goal off the legs of Cipriano Da Costa. TP Boys kept up the pressure with Raju and Edwin harassing the Mobor defence but Mobor stood their ground.
However a beautiful floater from Delzan was headed in by captain Raju Cardozo to extend TP Boys' lead. Steve and Jana da Costa played well for Mobor. TP Boys will now clash in the finals with Khandi Bandoi Boys 'A' on Sunday, June 12.
St Anthony down Batora Utd to advance
St Anthony SC moved into the next round, defeating Batora United 2-0 in the Jose & Franky Memorial football tournament at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim.
St Anthony scored the first goal through Sandy Fernandes in 20 minute. In the second half, Batora tried their best to equalise but their strikers missed easy chances.
St Anthony scored their second goal through Esby Vaz in the 40 minute to make it 2-0. Sandy Fernandes of St Anthony SC was named as the Man of the match.
