United Club of Utorda has opened a swimming academy at Maiden Meadows, Utorda. Chief guest Aleixo F da Costa, State Director of Craftsmen Training and Member Secretary of GFDC, speaking
on the occasion stressed the importance of swimming and other sport related activities and lauded UCU for their role in promoting such activities in the village. Norten Viegas was the guest of honour.
Earlier, UCU President Trindade Fernades welcomed the gathering, while Ana Pacheco proposed the vote of thanks. Trainer Carlos Costa also spoke on the occasion. Emy Pereira introduced while Agnelo Pereira compered.
About 80 trainees were issued participation certificates after a month long training programme. The project was coorditaed by Rosa Maria, Jhonny Gomes and Anthony Rodrigues. Those interested in joining the academy can contact Agnelo Pereira (9822102864) or Cyber Point Services, Utorda.
