Amey Audi beat Anish Prabhudesai in the final round to win the Salcete Taluka chess tournament, unbeaten. The event was organized by Salcete Taluka Chess Association at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, here.
Aryan Raikar who scored 5 points beat Saiesh Audi in the final round to take the 2nd position while Nandini Saripalli beat Jugan Rodrigues to take the 3rd place.
The other positions are:4th Anish Prabhudesai;5th Eesh Prabhudesai;6th Neil Barreto;7th Sanat Borkar;8th Vraj Porob;9th Saiesh Audi;10th Jugan Rodrigues.
In the age group category the following prizes were awarded:U-7 Boys- Atharva Sawal;Girls-Shriya Patil;U-9Boys- Desai Ruturaj;Girls - Mayanka Arsekar; U-11 Boys- Colaco Vernan;Girls- Fernandes Sara; U-13 Boys-Soham Dhuri; Girls “ Vibhuti Desai;U-15 Boys-Kshetij Mayenkar;Girls-Siya Desai.
Prizes were sponsored by M/s ATC Industries.WGM Bhakti Kulkarni gave away the prizes and motivated the players and the parents.Others present were Ashesh Keni, Vice-President GCA, Damodar Zambaulikar, Secretary, STCA, Sanjay Kavlekar, Chief Arbiter and Pradip Kulkarni, father of Bhakti Kulkarni.
