MARGAO: USC Seraulim Veterans secured a place in the quarterfinals of the S. Mini Mart Seraulim Veterans Football Cup by defeating Colva Veterans 4-1. The match was organized by the United Sports Club of Seraulim at the church ground in Seraulim.
Seraulim Veterans took the lead in the 22nd minute when Jess sprinted down the left flank, receiving a pass from Sandip Shanke, and scored from close range, leaving Colva goalkeeper Denzil Dias with no chance.
Just two minutes later, Steven netted the second goal, converting a pass from Sohan Da Costa from inside the box. At halftime, Seraulim held a comfortable 2-0 lead.
In the 31st minute, Steven added his second goal, skillfully dribbling past several defenders to extend the lead to 3-0. Jess then found the net again in the 46th minute, dribbling around both the defender and the goalkeeper after receiving a pass from Vinod Naik, making it 4-0.
Jose Fernandes managed to reduce the deficit for Colva Veterans, bringing the final score to 4-1 in favor of Seraulim Veterans.
