Goa women crashed to a heavy 77-runs defeat against Vidarbha in a RD VI Elite Group A & B encounter in the ongoing one-dayers league at Chukkapalli Pitchaiah Cricket Ground Mulapadu on Saturday.
Electing to bat first, Vidarbha were bundled out for 135 in 47 overs. Late middle-order batswoman Kanchan Nagwani top scored for her side with an invaluable 46. D D Kasat played her part with 23.
For Goa, Vanita shone with figures of 3/24. Chasing a smallish target, Goa Women lacked application and succumbed meekly to 58 all out in 35.2 overs. Only captain and wicketkeeper-opener, Vinavi Gurav who made 14 and experienced middle-order bat, Sunanda Yetrekar with 18 runs entered double-digit scores.
In the Vidarbha attack, captain KR Zanzad led from the front picking two wickets. Also picking up two sticks were MS Bodkhe and Kanchan Nagwani, the latter who completed a fine all-round performance.
