Vidarbha gained a strong position against Goa on the opening day of their four-day Dr. (Capt) Thimmappiah Memorial Cricket Tournament match, which commenced on Monday at the AIAF Ground in Bengaluru.
At stumps on the first day, Vidarbha were comfortably placed at 310 for four in 85 overs. Yash Rathod led the batting effort with a splendid 111, while Danish Malewar remained unbeaten on 87. Opener Satyam Bhoyar contributed a useful 47, helping Vidarbha build a solid foundation.
For Goa, Ruthvik Naik was the most successful bowler, claiming two wickets for 49 runs. Lalit Yadav and Darshan Misal picked up one wicket each.
