Chennaiyin FC’s Mehrajuddin Wadoo, who has made the right-back slot his own over the last few games said on Monday that their match against Mumbai is as good as final.
Wadoo is no way counting Mumbai out for Tuesday's cruch match. "Mumbai City FC is a good team, they have got good players. Yes, they have not won a game in last six games. But anything can happen," Wadoo said on match eve.
The right back said the contest can swing either ways and therefore his team needed to be on the guard. "It can be anyone's day tomorrow. We have to play the way we played the last two games, try to score as early as possible and hopefully we will get these three points," added Wadoo.
Wadoo played as a central midfielder last season and now he is playing as a right-back. When asked aout this transition, he said: "I think, I have played in different positions throughout my career. I started as a striker, then I played as a centre-back, then I played as a mid-fielder in the Indian team. Last year in the ISL also I stared as a mid-fielder then I was shifted to right-back in the last few games. From there, I started playing in the right-back position and still I am playing as a right-back. For me every position is important, different coaches give me different roles. Right now, I am enjoying playing as a right-back. I am ready, if tomorrow I get a chance to play as a central mid-fielder."
Wadoo has played his heart out as he is one of the set players of the starting XI who has played all 900 minutes in the last 10 games."I think, when you or any player is playing for Chennaiyin FC, he has that responsibility. When I signed with Chennaiyin FC, I wanted to make Chennaiyin FC the champion. I want to contribute my 100% for Chennaiyin FC. Yes, after playing 10 games, I feel more responsible now. Because next two games are very important. I hope to play both the games and give my 100%," he said.
On his own performance this season, Wadoo said: "I think, I still have to work hard because there is lot of room for improvement in me. I have given my 100% in every game. There have also been ups and downs, I will do hard work to improve my game."
