The Loyola Ex-Students Association (LESA) successfully completed its marquee sporting event, the 47th edition of the Fr. Castellino Memorial Basketball Tournament, continuing a long-standing tradition of promoting basketball excellence. Over the years, the tournament has transformed from a senior men’s competition into a dynamic grassroots platform dedicated to nurturing emerging basketball talent from across Goa.
This year’s tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 24 teams competing in the Under-14 and Under-17 categories for both boys and girls. Spread across four action-packed days, the event delivered high-energy performances, emotional moments, and strong spectator support, reinforcing its reputation as a premier youth basketball showcase.

The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Lyndon Monteiro, Vice President of the Goa Basketball Association, who emphasized the importance of grassroots development in sports and commended LESA for its sustained efforts in fostering young talent.
Also present were Loyola High School Principal Fr. Anand D’Souza, S.J., along with members of the clergy, LESA President Trevor Coutinho, and the LESA team. Trophies and certificates were awarded to all participants and winners, celebrating their achievements and sportsmanship.
