ABC Arambol win 7 Martyrs Cup

ABC Arambol beat Parish Youth Nuvem 2-0 to win the 7 Martyrs Cup organised by Agassaim Youth Club at Agssdiam ground.

ABC came with a plan, attacking the opponents right from the word go and they succeeded in the first half when they earned a penalty which Stepelton Fernandes calmly slotted in for 1-0 lead in the 9th minute. Parish Youth tried their best through Nicolau Colaco and Myron but ABC defence led by Vivek Khanolkar and goalkeeper Aayush Gadekar stood tall and brought all their efforts to nought. ABC continued with their attacks in the second half and succeeded in scoring through striker Cypriano Rodrigues to make it 2-0 in the 56th minute.

Former Minister Francisco Silveira was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up along with the guest of honour Xavier Gracias, Sarpanch of Agassaim, and Fr Mario Leitao, Fr Domnic Savio, Fr Roland Lyn Fernandes and Panch members of VP Agassaim.

The tournament was organised by Agassaim YC under the guidance of former Dempo SC and India coach and General Secretary of Agassaim Youth Club, Armando Colaco.

Goan girls win gold in National surfing championships

PANAJIGoan girls Sugar Banarase (16) and Sofiya Sharma (14) won gold medals in the recently concluded Indian Open of Surfing held at Panambur beach, near Mangalore.The three-day event which saw participation of close to 100 surfers from across India, was organised jointly by the Surfing Federation of India (SFI) and the Mantra Surf Club.
