FC Goa striker Armando Sadiku will be available for the team's upcoming match against Chennaiyin FC on Saturday after his red card against East Bengal was overturned by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee.
Sadiku had received a direct red card in the third minute of second-half stoppage time during the match for a foul on East Bengal's Hijazi Maher. Despite the red card, FC Goa won the match 1-0.
After the match, FC Goa appealed the decision, and the AIFF Disciplinary Committee reviewed the incident. The committee concluded that Sadiku's actions did not constitute serious foul play or violent conduct. As a result, they decided to downgrade the red card to a yellow card.
In an official statement, FC Goa confirmed the decision: "Following a detailed review of the video evidence submitted by the club, the committee determined that Armando’s actions did not amount to intentional serious foul play or violent conduct. As a result, the red card has been overturned and replaced with a yellow card."
