Holders Bethany Convent blanked Mount Mary's High School, Chinchinim 4-0 to enter the finals of the 2nd All Goa inter-school football tournament, organised by St Joseph's Ex Students Association Chandor, at Chandor church ground, on Saturday.
Josley Gomes scored the first goal for Bethany in the 17th minute when he dribbled past the Chinchinim defenders and placed the ball in the Chinchinim goal. At half-time, Bethany Convent led 1-0.
After the break, Chinchinim boys tried hard to find the equaliser but it eluded them. Josley scored again when he connected a corner kick to make it 2-0. Chinchinim were unlucky to concede the third goal when Steven Gomes' shot deflected off the Chinchinim defender and entered the net. Josley completed his hat-trick in the dying minutes when he headed the ball into the Chinchinim goal giving no chance to the otherwise agile Chinchinim keeper.
Bethany will now meet St Joseph's EI, Chandor in the final slated to played on April 7
Josley Gomes was awarded the man of the match which was handed over by the chief guest and veteran footballer Vincy Antao.
