Talented siblings from Ponda Anvay and Amaira Borkar have brought laurels to the state by securing top positions in the All India Rapid Chess Tournament held at Koteshwara, Karnataka.
Anvay, a 13-year-old student of GVM's Utkarsh Vidhyamandir, Ponda, clinched the first position in the U-13 Boys category. His younger sister, Amaira, studying at Pragati Vidhya Mandir School, Farmagudi, was the champion in the Ur-7 Girls category.
Both the siblings have been under the expert tutelage of FIDE Instructor (FI) Wilson Cruz at Champions Chess Academy, Ponda.
